Under Audio, you'll find the options "Perform Quick Scan for Music" and "Perform Full Scan for Music." It's unclear at this point what the difference between the two is, but click on either of them, and a new radio station will be added that's comprised exclusively of the music in your folder. When that's done, start up the game and head into the Settings menu. (Likely located at C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music depending on your setup.) Simply copy and paste your music files-at the very least, MP3s are supported-into that folder, and you're almost ready to go. In there you'll find a folder dedicated to GTA V, and inside that, you'll find an empty folder called User Music. The process is quite simple, though setting it up requires you to know what you're looking for.Īfter installing GTA V, you should have a Rockstar Games folder located inside the Documents folder of the Windows account that installed it. Be sure to keep a sharp eye for them they’re incredibly tiny to spot since they act as USB drives containing music files.Much like with past GTA games, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V allows you create a custom radio station with your own music.

And while these mixes can only be played individually, they’re a nice addition to the ever-growing radio wheel. The Media Player is a featured option on the Radio Wheel in Grand Theft Auto Online added in the Los Santos Tuners update on July 20, 2021.
Beforehand, there were only several for everyone to find after the Los Santos Tuners update brought along new music. The new Contract DLC introduces three new media sticks for players to collect. If it helps, think of it like loading a CD into a CD player before pressing play. This might seem a little excessive as opposed to simply cycling through the mixes on the radio wheel as opposed to the Menu, but this is the only way to play your mixes on the radio. If you wish to switch up the tracklist for the media player, you’ll need to return to the Interaction Menu and repeat the steps above. Whichever mix you select will be played and played only. You can stop using the media player at any time by switching over to a different radio station. Just keep in mind that you must collect media sticks in order to use them for the player. Once you have your selected mix, exit the Interaction Menu to then flip through your radio wheel to find Media Player.

Once found, these sticks provide more music for the radio, but you’ll need to access another menu before you can hear it all. But what you might not know is that you can add more music to your inventory with the addition of media sticks for the media player. From old-school rock and funk to electronic dance music, there’s a tune for everyone. Aside from the original score in the game, we’re all used to adjusting our radio stations while we work the streets of Los Santos. You can never get enough music in GTA Online.
